Trip to Bloo

A Look at Our Week

We have had a wonderful week away but we sure are happy to be heading home, home, home! Trips are always nice and we look forward to our traveling opportunities but how great is it that we love home so much that we can’t wait to get back!

Last week before our travels began we attended an auction in town. We had seen this auction advertised online and were curious just to go and see how things went. The auction was of an estate including house, land and furniture, tools and other personal items. We hung out for a couple of hours and learned a lot from the experience. Of course, yes, there was an item we were interested in that we could have won at a great price but we hadn’t signed up to bid. Oh well, this one was our learning experience, we will be ready to bid next time.

Traveling Times

Tuesday I headed back to Mom’s. Yep, we had another doctor’s visit. I stayed in town until Thursday morning and made it home just in time to prepare for our next trip. Friday we headed to Ohio. My guy had agreed to teach Bluecoats Alumni Corps this summer and this was a camp weekend. We had a great trip and loved seeing all our Bluecoats friends again. The show in August is going to be awesome!

After Bluecoats camp we headed to my guy’s sister’s house Monday afternoon. She had a party planned for the 4th and we had great food and lots of catching up with the family. Today (Tuesday) we are back on the road headed home again!

Gardening Fun

Oh, I have missed my garden this weekend. I’ve even missed all those pesky weeds. I can’t wait to get home and see how everything has grown! Before we left I harvested our first cucumber of the year and another batch of blueberries, basil, cilantro, and dill. I had the cucumber as my snack one day while watching the band, yum!

I also was able to see my first bloom on my hydrangea plant before we left. The flowers in the front bed are doing well. It’s exciting to watch them as they grow into the flower beds I have pictured in my mind.

Before we left town I told my guy if he would gather all the ripe blackberries that I would make us a cobbler. The catch was he had to get at least two cups of berries to make the cobbler. Well, he succeeded and it was yummy!

I used my band watching time to do lots of research on the garden areas. I had quite the list of items I needed/wanted to research and just hadn’t had the time yet. I have my fall garden all planned out and am ready to try again on the veggies that didn’t work out this spring. Also, I was finally able to finish my Winning the War on Weeds book I have wanted to read. It was recommended on the podcast we listen to and it did contain a lot of good information that I am sure we will use.

Sappy Selfies

No selfies this week (What?! A weekend of band camp with no selfies!?) but here is a cow pic instead! Have a great week! XOXO
